Hey Houstonians – have you checked out the new Picasso Black and White exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts? As the MFAH write up states, “Picasso Black and White, the first major exhibition to focus on the artist’s lifelong exploration of a black-and-white palette throughout his career, features paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from 1904 to 1970. The MFAH is the exclusive venue following the landmark fall 2012 premiere at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.”
While Picasso is most known for the striking colors used in his cubist works, this exhibit explores the depth and emotion he was able to achieve through a black and white palette. The exhibit opened on February 24th and will be on view until May 27th. Feeling inspired by Picasso’s monochromatic display?
